“Charmed” star Rose McGowan said on Twitter that she will be in Iowa to film the indie movie “Dylan’s Wake,” which started shooting last week.

“Dylan’s Wake” is about a young man (played by Nick Stahl of “Terminator 3″) who fakes his own death to see who will show up for his funeral. Only two people show, including his high school sweetheart (McGowan) and a junkie who believes Stahl’s character is an angel.

McGowan and Stahl both have connections to director Robert Rodriguez. McGowan is engaged to Rodriguez and starred in “Planet Terror,” his half of the film “Grindhouse.”

Stahl played the titular character in the “That Yellow Bastard” segment of the Rodriguez/Frank Miller collaboration “Sin City.”

According to Rose’s MySpace profile, they are indeed married and having a bub on the way.

If you look at the newest photo I posted a few entries below, that could may well be the wedding ring on his finger.

Bon Jovi Croons, Stahl Snoozes, Cristal Pops in Hoppin’ Holiday Hamptons

Perhaps lulled by the sense of intimacy, actor Nick Stahl fell asleep in the pantry at some point during the evening, said a source.

Aliquot Films is proud to have joined the MESKADA production (Producer) which officially goes into production May 12, 2009. Shooting is scheduled to begin on June 8th.

Starring Nick Stahl (HBO’s “Carnivale”) Rachel Nichols (”GI Joe” “Star Trek”) Kellan Lutz (”Twilight”) Vincent D’Onofrio (”Law and Order” “Brooklyn’s Finest”) and Mary-Kate Olsen (”The Wackness”), Meskada tells the story of small-town detective, Noah Cordin, as he attempts to solve a juvenile homicide that occurred during a home burglary in his affluent town of Hilliard. The dead boy’s mother, Allison Connor, is a member of the Meskada County Board of Commissioners, and a powerful woman in Hilliard; and the entire township rallies together in solidarity – to support her and Detective Cordin’s efforts to find the killers.

Unfortunately, the burglars left no clues or leads at the crime scene – except for a tiny scrap of paper, which vaguely points Noah and county detective Leslie Spencer in the direction of Noah’s OWN hometown of Caswell. Noah and Leslie return to Caswell, where Noah re-connects with his old friends and roots, troubled at how economically downtrodden Caswell has become. Noah’s investigation into the Connor homicide starts off respectfully, as he enlists the help of his old friends Daniel Hartfield, a cop in Caswell, and Billy Burns, a local bar owner.

However, as Noah fails to extract a suspect, tensions rise feverishly between Hilliard and Caswell. The Meskada County Board of Commissioners threatens to derail a newly-planned manufacturing plant from setting up in Caswell, which would bring CRUCIALLY needed jobs into their local economy. Shocked by the threatened sabotage, Daniel, Billy, and all of Caswell begin their own investigation into their town – to reveal the killers and put their manufacturing plant back on track. And through all of this, Noah’s loyalties are torn between his past and his present…until the Connor murder investigation comes to a shocking climax.

‘Fugitive Chronicles’ to begin shooting soon in region

CAIRO – In the world of film and television, Greene County has been a hotbed of activity in the last few months.

Most recently, film crews have been swarming Main Street in Catskill, shooting the independent crime drama “Meskada,” starring Nick Stahl (Bully, Terminator 3, HBO’s Carnivale) and Rachel Nichols (Star Trek, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, ABC’s Alias).

While “Meskada” is still actively shooting around the area until early July, additional film crews will be their contemporaries in the Cairo and Durham areas.

“The Fugitive Chronicles,” a new show slated to air first quarter 2010 on A&E, held a casting call in the Cairo-Durham Middle and High School gymnasium on Saturday, looking for extras and a few limited feature spots.

According to Casting Director Kristian Sorge, filmmakers were hoping to find 30 extras and less than a handful of featured actors during the call. Approximately 55 prospective extras turned out for the casting call.

“You never know what the turnout will be for these things,” said Sorge.

Within the final hour of the casting call, which lasted from 10:30 a.m. to about 1:30 p.m., a few professional actors did appear from areas outside of the county.

Aspiring actress Heidi Philipsen, from Schenectady, appeared in the hopes of getting cast. She said she travels to New York City often for casting calls and has worked on a laundry list of various productions. Most recently, Philipsen said she was an extra in the feature film “Salt” starring Angela Jolie. During that shoot in Albany, several of the overhead arterial highways had to be closed and rerouted for the film crews.

“You got to know the highways very well during that one,” Philipsen joked.

“The Fugitive Chronicles” will be shooting primarily in the immediate vicinity of Cairo and Durham, re-enacting the true story of a fugitive on the lamb in the region.

Sorge would not disclose further details on the real-life fugitive story, but said that each episode of the one-hour show to air on A&E is based on true fugitive tales. The pilot season will feature eight episodes starting early next year.

Shooting for the show will begin June 24 and continue to July 2.

The episode is being directed locally by Ben Chanan and is executive produced by Bart Layton, Dimitri Doganis and Charles Tremayne.

Freestyle Releasing will distribute Herrick Entertainment’s “My One and Only.”

Richard Loncraine’s feature, starring Renee Zellweger, Kevin Bacon and Logan Lerman, will open with an exclusive release on Aug. 21 in New York and Los Angeles before expanding to the top 20 markets on Sept. 4.

Written by Charlie Peters and loosely based on the early life of George Hamilton, the film stars Zellweger as Anne Devereaux, a woman who leaves her philandering bandleader husband in New York and takes her two teenage sons across the country as she searches for a new, and wealthy, mate.

The cast also includes Eric McCormack, Chris Noth, Mark Rendall, Nick Stahl and Steven Weber.

The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, where it was awarded Special Mention by the independent jury. Zellweger was also been named best actress at the Milan International Film Festival.

“One” is a Herrick Entertainment presentation of a Raygun Prod., in association with Merv Griffin Entertainment and George Hamilton Prods. Aaron Ryder and Norton Herrick produced. Exec producers are George Hamilton, Elayne Herrick and Michael Herrick.

Dylan McDermott, Zoe Saldana, Lake Bell, Nick Stahl, Paz Vega and Shannen Doherty will star in “Burning Palms” says The Hollywood Reporter.

Christopher Landon’s satire makes fun of Los Angeles stereotypes as told through five interlacing stories – specifically skewing views of people who live in West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Westwood and Holmby Hills. Each of the characters confronts taboos and an uncertain, often darkly humorous fate.

The sextet join a large ensemble cast that also includes Adriana Barraza, Colleen Camp, Jamie Chung, Robert Hoffman, Peter Macdissi, Emily Meade, Anson Mount, Rosamund Pike, Austin Williams and Tom Wright.

Oren Segal, Steven Prince and Jason Hewitt are producing the indie feature.

Pic is inspired by George Hamilton’s childhood adventures as he and his brother were taken on a road trip by their eccentric and glamorous mom, who drove along the East Coast looking for a rich man to take care of the family. Bacon will play the philandering band leader she tries to leave behind.
